Precautions for Using Shipping Launching Airbags
During static lifting, the internal pressure of the airbag can reach up to twice its rated working pressure.
During rolling launch operations, the airbag pressure should not exceed the rated working pressure.
The designed service life of Qingdao Evergreen airbags is 6 years; actual service life depends on usage frequency and maintenance practices.
For repaired airbags, the working pressure should be appropriately reduced according to the condition of the airbag.
How to Select Marine Airbags for Your Ship Launching Project
Airbag Diameter
· The airbag diameter should be larger than the height of the keel blocks beneath the ship. This applies to both ship launching and drydocking operations.
· Adequate is sufficient — if smaller diameter airbags can meet the project requirements, there is no need to select larger ones.
Airbag Length
· If the ship’s beam is less than 20 meters, the airbag length should be no less than the beam.
· If the ship’s beam is between 20 and 50 meters, the airbag length should be at least half of the beam.
Number of Airbag Layers (Plies)
· Normally, 6-ply airbags are suitable for most launching projects.
· Increasing the quantity of airbags is often more effective than simply increasing the number of plies.
· If the effective contact area under the ship is limited and additional airbags cannot be added, higher-ply airbags can be selected.
